RIDE A LONELY WIND (MATT BRANNIGAN SERIES BOOK 1)

Sick of soldiering, tires of endless cattle drives with no future, Matt Brannigan decides to take his guns and his pay, mount his horse and light a shuck for the Panhandle where he hopes to put together a herd of cattle and start a new life. But Comanches attack Matt, nearly killing him. Injured, he collapses into the camp of the beautiful, but indomitable, Christina Murie.

Recently attacked by Comanches and having lost her foreman, Christina is in a fix herself. Yet she takes time to nurse Matt, a complete stranger, back to health. Wanting to demonstrate his gratitude, Matt offers to help Christina travel to Fort Griffin after her uncle also dies from wounds inflicted by Indians. But Christina is one strong-willed woman with a Spencer rifle and the skill to use it, and she doesn’t welcome help from a no account drifter who’s entirely too cocky for her liking. Soon sparks are flying between them and not just about the best way to get to Fort Griffin.

Forming an uneasy alliance based on necessity, the two head to the fort intending to go their separate ways again as soon as possible. Christina plans to claim and run the ranch her uncle left her, Matt to build his own ranch in the Northwest. But fate steers a different course for them both, and Matt soon finds himself employed as  foreman for the cantankerous Miss Murie, defending her reputation, her property and her life, while building the Murie Ranch herd. And in between Matt must save hapless victims from grotesque and gruesome torture and death inflicted by passing war parties; foil the plans of greedy, plotting gamblers and gunfighters, and avoid prosecution by one very unethical would-be lawman, all to save the woman he loves and build a home in the volatile, yet breath-taking, Texas frontier.

WOLF CREEK

Fed up with endless cattle drives, Mace Gentry draws his pay and leaves Texas for the Rocky Mountains. But there is trouble brewing along the way when a party of killers ambush Gentry in Wolf Creek Pass.

Wounded, Gentry is rescued by local rancher Pete McClure and his nephew, Rodrigo, who take him to Pagosa Springs. There Gentry confronts and kills one of the bandits who robbed him, only to end up in trouble with the law, mainly in the form of town marshal Slim Bledsoe.

Beaten and jailed, Gentry is nursed to health by the exotic Ling, a woman of mixed Asian and Native ancestry, who has little regard for violent cowboys. Recovering under her care, Mace takes a temporary job as McClure’s foreman, but the cattle baron Tyrone Rock soon moves his Double-R herd into the area, looking for fresh range, pushing other ranchers out with bribes and bullets. Unfortunately for Gentry, the robber he killed in Pagosa Springs was Rock’s oldest son.

Even as Gentry and the McClure hands take on the Double-R cattle empire, bandits under madman Jesse Parker continue trying to murder Gentry. But all is not as it seems with the Double-R outfit, for several hired guns working for Rock are in cahoots with former gunfighter Jim Bounty, Bledsoe’s main deputy, and plan to rob the Pagosa Springs banks of a large shipment of silver.

Gentry must stop the Double-R from burning McClure out, foil the plans of the robbers and somehow survive the continuous ambushes set by Parker, while finding the woman he loves and a new life in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

DRUMS OF THE DARK FOREST (THE LONG HUNTER SERIES BOOK 1)

The Allegheny Mountains are a dangerous place for whites in the summer of 1763. Trying to escape an Indian uprising under Ottawa chief Pontiac, Zebediah Parker heads south through the dense forests of western Pennsylvania. Pursued by hostile war parties, he hopes to find safety and rest at Fort Ligonier.

But stumbling across a massacre at a destroyed settler’s cabin, Parker realizes that a roving war party has captured a young woman and a small boy. Rather than leave them to their fate, he decides to follow and rescue them.

After rescuing the beautiful Sarah Colter and her young brother Joshua, Parker flees south, taking them to Fort Ligonier, only to find the fort surrounded and under siege by hostile Delaware and Shawnee war parties. Soon, the beleaguered commander must call upon Parker to use his woodland skills to sneak past the Indians besieging the fort and obtain relief from Fort Bedford to the east.

Parker quickly reaches Fort Bedford and brings help in the form of an army under the command of the dedicated English officer, Colonel Bouquet. Parker is reunited with Sarah and Josh at Fort Ligonier, and Bouquet’s army manages to chase the Indians away. Soon Parker must leave once again to act as a scout for Bouquet’s army as it presses to relieve the besieged Fort Pitt at the forks of the Ohio  and Monongahela rivers. Fighting past an Indian ambush at Bushy Run, Bouquet’s army relieves the besieged Fort Pitt as Pontiac’s War plays itself out. The uprising seems to be over, and Parker heads back to Fort Ligonier.

But on his way Parker is captured by his mortal enemies, the Delaware, who strip him and march him northwest into the Ohio country as a condemned man, doomed to be burned at the stake. Trapped and alone among his lifelong enemies, Parker must endure the abuse and torture of hostile warriors, run countless gauntlets at Indian villages, and find a way to settle a score with the Delaware warrior who killed his parents. If he survives, he must then find his way back to Fort Ligonier through the dark and untamed forests of the western Pennsylvanian frontier, hoping to find the woman he loves waiting.

OPERATION: SICANGU (U.S. MARSHALS SERIES BOOK 1)

BRING HIM IN.

For U.S. Marshals, the order to track down a fugitive is just part of the job. But this time it’s a whole lot more than that. Hondo Cade and Storm Erhard are not typical U.S. Marshals. As members of the first Fugitive Apprehension Team they operate independently of the normal U.S. Marshal bureaucracy. When a key witness protected by the U.S. Marshals Service ends up dead, FAT-1 is dispatched from Dallas to the badlands of South Dakota to bring back the fugitive suspected of committing the murder. The fugitive in question, however, just happens to run an outlaw motorcycle gang called the Death Riders.

But more is going on in South Dakota than one of America’s Most Wanted being with some bad bikers. The bikers have aligned themselves with an anti-government militia on the local Sioux Indian reservation, all trained by a Native American renegade formerly of the Special Forces, and all wanting revenge against the United States of America. Cade and Erhard must somehow apprehend their man while simultaneously spoiling the plans of the antigovernment militia and survive the vast array of threats aligned against them. With the lives of hundreds of U.S. citizens hanging in the balance, the threat is one the U.S. Marshals cannot ignore, and FAT-1 goes into action the only way they know: the hard way.
